Office & Collaboration Solutions
Small and large organisations alike have to share information. From calendars and contacts, to ever changing documents, to specific structured data - it can be hard to manage and share all this information effectively in an organisation of any size. These problems are compounded where people work separately and are not always connected.
As a solution to these problems for our clients, we implement Microsoft SharePoint working along side Colligo Contributor that allows users to access SharePoint data offline.
SharePoint is an intranet / extranet portal. Think of it as a private website that includes a host of built in functions that let you share business information with one-another - contacts, calendars, version-controlled files, custom and third-party webparts, and many other features - all available through a Web browser. It is a secure, powerful and flexible tool that we customise for an organisation’s specific needs.
Up until recently, these types of services were predominantly only available to large organisations that had their own servers - that has all changed now, and we implement SharePoint with our hosting partners to provide very cost-effective SharePoint services to small businesses that don’t have their own servers - ideal for businesses where people operate from home or unconnected offices.
Because SharePoint uses a Web browser, you can access it when connected to your organisation’s network or connected to broadband (depending on you set-up). However, because we also implement Colligo Contributor for our clients, they can access a copy of SharePoint information and documents when not connected - perfect for people who travel a lot or work away from an Internet connection for periods.
Typically, we work with you through the following tasks:
- Discuss the way in which your organisation and its personnel (and sometimes other stakeholders) work together - the information and data, how it is stored, by whom, where and when.
- Produce an a plan detailing what solution best fits your business scenario along with the specifics of how each information type would be dealt with in the solution and how to migrate from the existing way of doing things to using SharePoint - this starts as a discussion and evolves in to our plan of action for your specific implementation.
- Install SharePoint within your organisation (if it is to be hosted on a server run by the client) or set-up hosting with one of our hosting partners.
- Configure SharePoint in line with the agreed plan including any development of custom lists, webparts, or integration with other websites.
- Installing and configuring any software (including the offline applicationyou’re your computers as necessary.
- Training sessions with individuals as necessary.
- Help to kick-off the process of imported existing information (e.g. documents) in to SharePoint.
